Chapter 5: The Wanderer

"Not all those who wander are lost; not all that is over is past" ~ John Ronald Reuel Tolkien

Saying ‘goodbye’ is never easy for the young warrior, but she knew it was sometimes more important than saying‘hello’. Her life would not be lived until all of the unwritten stories of her book were ventured and in its own way calibrated to completeness. In order for her to arrive to that satisfaction of a new story, she had to move on from comfort and explore the changes all around her, else it was not worth a story at all.

It was time to bid farewell to the Knight, for his teachings with the Warrior were done. She could see a 'goodbye' from various perspectives. Did it mean that their stories would never coincide? Or did it mean that their stories would take different turns? Or could it possibly be that there could be new stories played with different characters in the future?

The Warrior was no longer just a warrior, and yet, not a knight. She was now baptized by the experiences shared with the Knight. She had to be on her way one way or the other only with a backpack filled with figments for future reflections and remembrance. Some questions can only be answered by time. Hence accepting this, she continues her journey in the search of new revelations, never knowing whether or not the knight would appear in her stories again.

She jotted down with conviction,

You were like a dream; a dream that was true in its presence, a dream I wished to dream every day when night falls. One moment I lay in it’s presence, and the next I am left a prisoner of it’s last touch. To breathe the last trailing scent, and burn in the ardent flames of languish that it bequeathed to me. The dream is nothing but like the wind.
The wind makes me a Chough, a soaring bird in the mountains. I am not a day dreamer like the mountains, that stands tall against the blowing breeze, enjoying its presence until it’s gone. I am a wanderer, like a bird that spreads my dark angel-ed wings and glides along the currents of the wind. A wanderer, like a ship that sails along with the tides of the wind.
I’ll never know where the wind goes, but I’ll let it lead me through the light blue skies and over the vast oceans, above the snow capped mountains, through thick forests and wide, green fields. And when the wind has passed, I will find my way walking over the tall, edgy rocks, swimming across the mighty, rough waves, running between tall trees and skipping through endless pastures.
The gifts of the wind are memories to keep, the gifts of memories are enchantments to cherish, and the gifts of enchantments is the magic in your story of life.
