The Butterfly Effect

Yes off course I was inspired by the movie and even more when I studied a little about the dynamic deterministic and non-deterministic systems. And even more by recent life changing events. So what is the Butterfly Effect?

The Chaos Theory
This theory basically deals with the behavior of dynamical systems that are highly sensitive to initial conditions, an effect which is popularly referred to as the butterfly effect.

Whatever we do now, will determine what will happen in the future. And even if we do manage to go back in time and change that one little thing, the outcome will not be the same as expected, but could possibly result in something else completely outrageous. We do whatever we feel like at that moment of time. Sometimes we do good things and sometimes we do bad things. But crying over spilled milk does not make a dead man alive. (Yes, I intended to combine the two sayings!)

Sure we can grieve and sure we should be sorry and off course we must try to make things right. But knowing when to stop is equally important. Somethings cannot be repaired. And if something cannot be repaired we should let it go and build it anew. Life is too short to spend time worrying about time already gone by.

We are who we are for the choices we made in the past. We wished we could take things back. We wished we could make a different choice. We wished things were different. Why? Things are exactly how they should have been. If we could go back in time, we would probably make the same decision because that is exactly what we wanted at that point of time.

I was recently asked how do I see my life to be in the future or the next 10 years down the line. I wanted to say so many things all at the same time. But I kept quiet and thought for a minute. Then I thought about what I wanted a few years back and what am I doing now. And then it all came clear to me. Yes I wanted different things then. And I want different things now.

We experience so many events in our life. We meet different people, we experience and learn new things, sometimes the hard way. Each of these encounters play an important role in the decisions we make. We change the way we think. We change our priorities. We change our wants. And each small episode changes our life completely.

We should not be disappointed that things didn't work out the way we planned. Life gives us enough opportunity to have new dreams and make new plans. We should work towards it. We should just not forget to live in the moment.

  1. Yes, you are true.... but sometimes we can not deal with the chaos in our own mind... maybe the reason behind that we are frightened by our own thoughts "about our future"...but yes the only solution to come out of this chaos is just take the decision and don't regret....
